Entry Requirements

This programme is a selected entry programme. This means there are a number of extra requirements you must meet.

To enter the Master of Specialist Teaching you will have:

  • been awarded or qualified for a bachelor's degree with a minimum B grade average across the highest level courses (or equivalent), and
  • been awarded or qualified for a relevant professional qualification, and
  • completed at least two years relevant professional experience, or
  • been awarded or qualified for a Postgraduate Diploma in Specialist Teaching (or equivalent) with a minimum B average.

You will also provide the following documents as part of the selection process:

  • verified copies of all academic transcripts for studies taken at all universities other than Massey University
  • a copy of your current CV (including education and employment for at least the last five years. If you have recently changed jobs to a resource teacher role, please ensure the new role is included as your current employment)
  • verified copy of your current practising certificate issued by the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand (if a registered teacher with a current full practising certificate)
  • a summary of any short or long-term disability including learning disability or heath issue that may affect your study.

If you are not a registered teacher or you are a registered teacher without a current full practising certificate, you will also need to supply:

  • a completed NZ Police Request and Consent form, along with two pieces of verified identification (one of which must be photographic) from the list of acceptable forms of identification
  • a copy of a police report from every overseas country you have lived in for more 12 months in the last 10 years. Please do not supply originals as these will need to be supplied to the Education Council at a later date.

If you have been previously selected for and enrolled in a Specialist Teaching programme at Massey University you will apply online but will not go through the selection process.

Note: This programme may have an on-campus or in-person requirement and therefore requires that students submit a current My Vaccine Pass on enrolment. The management of supply chain relationships and optimisation of global logistics are paramount to business success.
Entry Requirements

To enter the Master of Supply Chain Management you will have been awarded or qualified for:

  • a relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent with a minimum B grade average over the 300-level majoring courses plus two years' relevant professional experience, or
  • a bachelor's degree or equivalent with a minimum B grade average over the 300-level majoring courses plus five years' relevant professional experience, or
  • a relevant postgraduate diploma or equivalent with a minimum B grade average plus two years' relevant professional experience, or
  • a relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent with a minimum A- grade average over the 300-level majoring courses plus two years' relevant professional experience, or
  • a bachelor's degree or equivalent with a minimum A- grade average over the 300-level majoring courses plus five years' relevant professional experience.

If you have a relevant postgraduate diploma or bachelor's degree with an A- grade average and relevant experience as outlined above, you may apply for credit towards Part One of the qualification in accordance with the limits specified in the Recognition of Prior Learning regulations. The programme of study for such candidates must include 240.758 if not already passed.

Massey's Master of Speech and Language Therapy provides qualified speech language therapists with opportunities for advanced clinical and theoretical study. You'll develop research skills that will prepare you to use and add to the knowledge base in speech and language therapy.
Entry Requirements

To enter the Master of Speech and Language Therapy you will:

  • have been awarded or qualified for the Bachelor of Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent having achieved at least a B grade average, or
  • have been awarded or qualified for the Bachelor of Speech and Language Therapy (Honours) or equivalent having achieved at least a B grade average.

Masters (Coursework)

Massey's Master of Veterinary Medicine programme offers practising veterinarians a flexible, modular system of study via online learning. You may choose from a wide range of small animal, large animal, epidemiology and veterinary business courses, or put them together for a qualification.
Entry Requirements

To enter the Master of Veterinary Medicine you will have been awarded or qualified for:

  • a Massey University Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc), or
  • have a veterinary qualification that can be registered by the New Zealand Veterinary Council or is considered by the Academic Board to be equivalent to the Massey University BVSc.

In order to enrol directly into the Master of Veterinary Medicine programme you must have obtained a B grade average in your veterinary degree.

This programme is a selected entry programme. This means there are a number of extra requirements you must meet.

To enter the Doctor of Clinical Psychology you will:

  • have been awarded or qualified for a bachelor with honours or master's in psychology with the award of first class or second class division I honours, or equivalent
  • have passed the following courses (or their equivalent) in your qualifying degree:
    • 175.738 Psychological Research: Principles of Design
    • 175.781 Understanding Mental Distress
    • 175.782 Clinical Psychology Assessment
    • 175.783 Clinical Psychology Interventions
  • have sufficient personal qualities, ethical standards and professional potential to satisfy the Doctoral Research Committee you have the capacity to successfully undertake the programme, and to satisfy the requirements for eligibility to practice as a Registered Psychologist in accordance with the Health Practitioners Competency Assurance Act of 2003 (or as amended)
  • supply all documentation as listed below
  • be offered a place in the programme following a selection interview.

Please note that there are more applicants than places, and candidates who meet the above conditions also need to be offered a place following a selection interview.

Applications close 1 September of the preceding year. No late applications will be accepted.

You must ensure that all documentation is supplied well in advance of the closing date. If you are applying close to the deadline you will need to ensure your referees are advised, as their report must be received by the closing date.

To enter the Master of Veterinary Studies (Advanced Veterinary Practice) you will:

  • have been awarded or qualified for a Bachelor of Veterinary Science with at least a B grade average, or equivalent; and
  • be selected into the programme on the basis of an interview.

You will need to provide verified copies of all academic transcripts for studies taken at all universities other than Massey University.

To do a PhD you need to have a passion and commitment for your discipline. The degree is awarded for a thesis that demonstrates your ability to carry out independent and original research. It also needs to provide a significant contribution to the knowledge and understanding of a field of study.
Entry Requirements

To enter the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme you will:

  • have completed a postgraduate bachelor's (honours) or master's degree with First Class Honours or Second Class Honours (Division I) B+ equivalent, or equivalent qualification
  • have sufficient independent research experience to satisfy the Doctoral Research Committee that you have the capacity to successfully undertake the programme.

Massey University's Doctoral Research Committee administers the PhD. Registration must be supported by the relevant Head of School/Centre who will agree to provide supervision and facilities for your research.

Please note that there are more applicants than places on the programme. If you meet the above conditions you will also go through a selection process including an interview. If successful in this process, you will be offered a place.
