Entry Requirements
Minimum entry requirementsAll majors:
- University Entrance or equivalent
- Must be capable of meeting Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act (HPCA Act) and Children's Act 2014 requirements, including police clearance
Counselling:
- Interview may be required.
Paramedicine:
- Hold a valid driver's licence
- Preference will be given to applicants with one subject from Classical Studies, Drama, English, Geography, Health Education, History, History of Art, Media Studies, Social Studies, Te Reo Maori or Te Reo Rangatira, and one subject from Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Space Science, Physics, Science, Calculus, Mathematics, Statistics
- Applicants with English as a second or other language who have not completed at least three years of secondary schooling in NZ will be required to meet IELTS requirements.
International student entry requirements
The clinical health science degrees have separate entry requirements - for details refer to Midwifery, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Oral Health, Physiotherapy or Podiatry.
English language requirements- Paramedicine, Perioperative Practice: IELTS (Academic) 6.5 overall with all bands 6.5 or higher; or equivalent.
- Other majors: IELTS (Academic) 6.0 overall with all bands 5.5 or higher; or equivalent.
