Our lawyers work on the largest, most complex and high-value transactions, projects and disputes in New Zealand, providing our clients with strategic, commercial and decisive legal advice. Listening to them and understanding their businesses allows us to deliver solutions-focused, sector-specific advice on corporate and commercial, property, construction, finance, tax, dispute resolution, and environmental and government relations issues.

Our culture:

By striving to create a culture of belonging that focuses on equal opportunity and merit, we provide our people with the tools to be their best.

Manaakitanga, the concept of nurturing respect for each other, is the heart of our culture. How we treat each other is reflected in how we treat our clients and other stakeholders. We are committed to growing diversity and inclusivity in our organisation and making sure every single person feels welcomed and able to deliver their best. We recognise each employee brings their own unique capabilities, experiences and characteristics to their work. We actively promote fairness and equal opportunities at all levels, through our wellbeing and diversity programme, career development, learning and development programme, flexible working arrangements, social initiatives, and ongoing support and opportunities.

Our application process:

Our application process gives us every opportunity to get to know you and for you to get to know our firm and people.

Recruitment Process

Our application process gives us every opportunity to get to know you and for you to get to know our firm and people.

Applications for our Summer and Winter Clerkships typically open in March and it usually involves the following:

Below is a guide on how our process works:

  1. CV: Please provide a copy of your updated CV, sharing with us your work and life experiences, key skills and interests, and anything else you think we should know!
  2. Academic Transcript: We don't require a formally certified copy of your transcript (a scanned printout or screenshot is just fine!). Please upload this in the same document as your CV.

For all Summer and Winter Clerkship applications:

  1. We require you to answer two of our questions (350-word limit);
  2. We will also be asking candidates to submit a short 'About Me' video, which will bring your application to life. Think of it as a cover letter, and tell us the key things about you and your experience that you think would be valuable for us to know.
