About Chapman Tripp

Chapman Tripp is New Zealand's pre-eminent law firm. They deliver the highest levels of legal and business performance to their clients - they are strategic, commercial, decisive, and personal. Their lawyers work on projects that are helping define New Zealand's future, and as part of their team, you'll be in the thick of the action.

Your role

Chapman Tripp's Wellington-based finance team is looking for a law clerk. This is an interesting and challenging role that will suit an enthusiastic self-starter who enjoys cultivating strong working relationships.

This role will ideally suit someone who is keen to kick off their career in law in a top firm and has a keen interest in the finance world. As the successful candidate, you will be working directly with three of New Zealand’s leading finance partners, Leigh Kissick, Emma Sutcliffe, and Mark Reese getting involved in a range of matters. The team works on finance law, including from a sustainability perspective, commercial and financing aspects of large infrastructure projects, project and asset financing, and cross-border transactions. There is a lot to get involved in, and the work will be varied!

Being thrown in at the deep end is great for learning and development, however, they always pair this with a strong support network and buddy system. As a successful law clerk in their finance team, you will be given the room to take initiative and showcase your skills, while having a close-knit team to back you up.
