How would you like to become an expert in the Horticultural industry? Here at Mr Apple we grow more than great apples. People are our most valuable assets, and we pride ourselves on our ability to grow and develop experts.

What you’ll be doing

Do you enjoy working outdoors, are you hungry to learn and want to contribute to growing the best apples in the world? Then we want you to join the Mr Apple team on one of our many orchards across Hawke’s Bay!

As an Orchardist you will be exposed to and learn all day-to-day tasks that take place on an orchard to ensure that when the apples are harvested, they are at their best. This role varies with the changing seasons and there is always a new challenge for you to take on and overcome. The great part is you do this alongside a diverse and supportive team, some of whom are legends in the horticultural industry.

Your day-to-day tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Irrigation, Spraying and Tractor Driving
  • Re-development of existing Orchard blocks
  • Using technology and systems to guide your decision making
  • Supervision of our people (once you have gained the required experience)

What you’ll bring:

  • You can be looking for a career start or change, horticultural experience isn’t a must.
  • A future thinker – you are passionate about learning and owning change
  • You’re enthusiastic, reliable and act with integrity
  • You like to be busy, get your hands dirty and keep active
  • Have reliable means of transport with a minimum of a Learners licence
  • Have the right to work in New Zealand and can pass pre-employment checks

If you have what it takes to grow your expertise with us and want to work in paradise, please apply now. Once selected you will be invited to an Orchard Experience day where you will get a chance to see how things tick and show us why you should join our team.

What we offer:

  • Industry leading technology to ensure we continue to set the benchmark
  • A great team who recognises we are stronger together
  • Career development and support to become an expert Orchardist
  • Recognition when you do a great job
  • Competitive hourly rate
  • Support to obtain certifications and qualifications

Mr Apple

It would be fair to say we love apples, you could call us obsessed. As New Zealand’s largest apple grower and exporter, our team sets the benchmark for delivering the tastiest apples to the world.

We’ve only ever done apples – it’s what we’re passionate about - but it’s our whanau of 2,000+ people coming from a wide range of backgrounds, with different skills and unique ideas, that set us apart from the rest.

We know that by growing experts, we keep growing perfect apples and delivering the perfect crunch around Aotearoa and the world.
