I am basing this question on my upper management. I don't see it. I don't see them going out into the field and talking to other permanent staff. If they do come on site, it will be to see the manager of the orchard and that's it. What ever information comes from them is feed to the permanent staff through the orchard manager. They may talk very briefly to staff if they come out and deliver Xmas hampers or easter buns at easter. There is a disconnection between orchard staff and upper management. There is no relationship to connect too, possibly a face to a name, but that's about it.

I think the communication between the management and the staff is very good, but they can do better when it comes to praise and recognition for tasks that are done well.

Our manager personally is so knowledgeable, easy to approach, understanding and just an all round genuine person. I think I am personally a bit biased when I say i have the best manager but Mr Apple in general I think has a good judge of character especially with these higher performing roles to ensure they will fit with everyone on the orchards. We often have performance feedbacks which are great with showing you what is the next steps of improvements or where you have done really well in other areas. We all have our own iPad for clocking in during the day and with these our own Mr Apple email address in which we are able to receive daily communications from within the company to keep everyone in the loop on what changes are happening or any new updates.
