Culture at Mr Apple NZ

7.7
7.7 rating for Culture, based on 7 reviews
Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
My rating is based on the company as a whole - we are too divided into sectors - Post-Harvest - Head Office - Orchards. These 3 sectors do not cross over and we don't mix or socialise. If I had to base this question on my workplace - meaning the orchard I work on, then I would rate it about an 8-9. We don't have a drinking culture on this orchard and we don't socialise as a group outside work, as this is not how we operate. We have a strong working culture. We all muck in to get time pressure tasks done and there is no hierarchy involved. We all work towards a common goal to get the task completed.

Changing for the better! Love the banter and working with such a wide range of cultures, age groups and backgrounds. In the lab there are so many touch point in the business it is a great way to make professional connections and learn from different departments as well as making our own mark in the business.

socialising inside and out outside of work with colleagues is good. spend very little time with upper management.

The culture at Mr Apple is a healthy one, as they strive to challenge the employees to be better, and they have implemented some tools that help the staff with issues to support them, both inside and outside of work time/issues

Mr Apple really strives for a high culture, I find personally their focus lies heavily with the well-being of their workers which I think should be highly prioritised in all industries. I know with Brookfields orchard we have a lot of fun, everyone gets on generally well and we always get spoilt with after work beers here and there, lunch shouts and company leave. We often get check in’s from top office which is good as we’re able to express what we think needs changing and ideas we have that work well that are listened to and implanted. I think with every work place not everyone is going to get on as personalities can clash, I find our systems we have in place with correcting behaviour prior to it escalating is awesome, our formans and boss are really great with intervening before issues arise and this is something I think is greatly needed during the busy times of the year when everyone is getting tired.
