2020 Sustainability Graduate

Scales Corporation is a diversified agribusiness company and is a New Zealand listed company. It comprises of three operating divisions: Horticulture, Logistics and Food Ingredients. Based at Mr Apple in Hawkes Bay you will work for the Scales Group Health & Safety, Compliance and Sustainability Manager and get to work with a diverse company that values its biggest asset its people. Mr Apple is New Zealand's largest vertically integrated grower, packer and exporter of apples. This is a brand-new role and requires a special Graduate with a passion for sustainability.

Your main duties will include

• Projects and lots of them with a focus on supporting our goals on energy, carbon, waste and site environment compliance
• Working on energy, waste, carbon footprint roadmap strategies
• Identify efficiency improvement opportunities, support energy/KPI management systems and project implementation.
• Consult, review carbon footprint KPIs and engage key stakeholders to drive improvement projects
• Implement training and education programs for the business
• Conduct research for projects
• Oversee site audits and carbon footprint by engaging with stakeholders
• Assist with Scales Annual report on sustainability

To be successful, you will have

• Degree in either Environment Science or ideally Agri-Business
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Strong communication and coaching skills – ability to engage internal / external stakeholders
• Strong interest in sustainability and environmental planning
• Organised, detailed and thorough approach to tasks and project management
• Good computer skills (MS Office, basic statistical analysis) and capability to learn new applications
• A current full driver's licence.
