About IBM

Herman Hollerith, a young German immigrant who worked for the US census, developed a punching machine that speeded up the census process. His invention was used for the 1890 census and delivered a good result.  After this success, he set up his own company, “Tabulating Machine.” After several mergers with other companies, the form of what would become IBM began to take shape.

Your role

• Development of the hardware management console web interface and mobile app (Java)
• Development for the world’s highest security cryptographic processors (C, C++, Java)
• Development and support of I/O adapters (networking and storage) and Secure Service Containers used to support applications using blockchain technology. (C)
• Server virtualization and a Parallel Sysplex environment so that mainframes can communicate as a single entity. (Assembler)
• Implementation of complex z/Architecture instructions, concurrent and recovery functions (Assembler)

Training, development & rotations

IBM incorporates hands-on training into employee education. Blue Opportunities provides experience-based development opportunities, such as job rotations, to enhance IBMers’ careers regardless of geography. Participants commit as little as a few hours to several months to complete project-based initiatives that further their career goals.

Compensation & benefits

Prosple estimated the salary range of this position to be between US$94,357 - US$109,917. As an employee, you'll also receive the following benefits:

• Fundamental education in software design and/or test
• Computer Architecture
• Knowledge of programming languages: C, C++, Java, Assembly
• Scripting knowledge: Python, JavaScript, Perl, Bash, etc
