We make places better for generations to come.
At Fletcher Construction we pride ourselves on safely delivering a wide variety of construction and infrastructure projects for the people of New Zealand and the South Pacific.
But our power is not in what we do, it’s in who we are. We are a team of 3,700 people working under three brands: Fletcher Construction, Higgins, and Brian Perry Civil.
We operate across a wide range of New Zealand projects and locations. We are a tier-one contracting company building places, spaces, and networks that work for people, communities, and generations to come.
Fletcher Construction is a company that welcomes and supports people from all backgrounds.
We pride ourselves on bringing a whānau focus to our projects. That means everyone becomes part of the family, regardless of race, religion, gender, or sexuality.
Fletcher Building
Our parent company Fletcher Building has employee action groups with executive sponsors for our women, Māori, and LGBTQ+ employees. This provides a diverse employee viewpoint to senior management.
The Fletcher Construction Company Limited makes up the Construction Division of Fletcher Building Limited, which is dual listed on the NZX and ASX and operates through six divisions – Building Products, Concrete, Distribution, Australia, Construction, and Residential and Development.
Here’s what to expect during the recruitment process:
Application
We ask everyone to apply online. You’ll need to upload your CV, cover letter, and academic transcripts. We'll also get you to answer a few simple questions – things like which locations you are interested in working.
One-Way Video
Next up, if you meet our requirements, you’ll be invited to complete a one-way video interview – this is so we can get to know you a little better.
Interviews
After you’ve completed the one-way video your application and video will be made available to our hiring team to select suitable candidates to interview. If you’re selected, we'll invite you to either a face-to-face or two-way video interview. You can expect to be interviewed by a diverse two-person interview panel.
During the interview, we will explain more about the business area that is looking for a graduate, ask you a variety of general and values-based interview questions and most importantly give you a chance to ask us questions.
Offers
If you’ve made it this far – congratulations! At this stage, we'll extend a verbal offer to you and start working on formalising this by extending a written offer of employment. But before we do this, we’ll want to conduct a minimum of one reference check as well as arrange a bunch of other background checks – things like a Ministry of Justice check and a medical assessment.
We run a structured 24-month graduate programme to support your learning and growth across technical, health and safety, and self-development. Check out the list below for just some of the things on offer:
You’ll be part of a team where you’re included, supported, respected, and empowered – we pride ourselves on giving our people the best tools – including digital tools. We’ve recently undertaken a major digital transformation, putting us on the cutting edge of construction innovation.
