Your role

Candidates will be expected to:

• Apply sustained and intense concentration for extended periods.​
• Solve problems through legal analysis and strategic advice.  ​
• Research and draft written communications​.
• Craft/critique/comment on arguments.  ​
• Work under pressure to meet deadlines and perform to the satisfaction of clients and colleagues​.
• Provide timely, accurate, and well-reasoned work product​.
• Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with partners, lawyers, clients, staff, and third parties.​
• Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence efficiently and responsively, meeting all deadlines and expectations.

Training & development

As a summer associate in the Litigation group, you will receive a tailored experience working on trials, appeals, and related counseling along with pro bono opportunities. The in-depth training focuses on your development and helps prepare you for the future. You will be assigned a team that will provide support and offer feedback, and you will be able to build your network through social events. The 10-week program provides insight into what life is like as a junior associate at DLA Piper.
