Training & Personal Development at Atlassian

7.7
7.7 rating for Training, based on 27 reviews
Please describe the training programmes at your company and tell us what skills you've picked up.
There's not much formal training but they give us the flexibility and budget to choose our own informal training to complete throughout the year.

Personally there aren't that many formal training or development programs at Atlassian - there are some courses that are mandatory but they are generally related to workplace culture such as preventing harassment, security of services etc. I've found that most of the skills I've learnt come from just learning on the job.

You learn a lot on the job, but we are also provided with access to courses, such as AWS training courses. Furthermore, we have hubs for learning that have many resources about all sorts of different Atlassian products and trainings we need to engage in. Our internal Confluence is full of extremely valuable information that every employee can contribute to, and spending enough time here alone would teach you almost everything you need to know.

I don't think we have any training. There's budget for you to enrol in online learning.

We have access to annual training budgets of $250 USD for self-directed learning and $2,500 USD for courses and certifications that relate to work. We also have access to LinkedIn learning, Atlassian University, specialised AWS training, our in-house training modules, and other training from third party providers. I've learnt AWS, Jira and Confluence from scratch, as well as attended 2x $4000USD training's provided by Mandiant in Enterprise Incident Response. Also plenty of communication and stakeholder management skills,

Formal training was whatever, but I have just learnt so much from everyone around me.

I am constantly supported by my team and feel that I am in a safe space to make mistakes and learn. Atlassian also provides plenty of learning resources for many topics. They also have a yearly budget of $250 USD that I can use to purchase books or courses that will help my grow both inside and outside of work.

Informal training depends on which team you're placed in. Formal training includes AWS courses run by AWS, and likely others.

There is not much 'formal' training but there are a lot of resources from fellow Atlassians who have done the work previously, which lets you learn on the job quickly.

The training I received when I first joined was really good, I was paired up with a Mentor and a Buddy to help catch me up to speed with all the Technical and Social aspects of Atlassian. The ongoing training is great too. We have online courses that teach us more advanced topics related to Atlassian, and also A learning budget that allows us to buy books or courses related to our roles to advance our learning too.

It's more like on the job, I prefer it that way

i did some aws training, it was a bit dry and not very applicable

- Was trained as an intern by working alongside senior and lead level designers to get hands-on experience

I think the training here is expected on your own, people sort of guide you but there is no programs per say so you are more expected to do that by yourself. There is a few induction and welcome programs but nothing really structure around training
