What are your thoughts on pay and bonuses at your company?
Pay and bonuses are alright.
Graduate, Sydney
For my current position in the market (graduate software engineer), my total compensation is very good. However, due to the current market, our bonuses were cut to only 50% this year, which was unfortunate.

The remuneration is very competitive. Personally I think it's absolutely incredible, especially because I come from a moderate upbringing, and so the salary and bonuses just feel like Christmas every day.

The pay is quite great, especially for Data Science. As a graduate, there were not many other options which had a similar compensation in the tech sector. Bonuses depend on company performance, which can be decided by macroeconomic factors, but they still exist.

The pay and bonuses at Atlassian are fantastic in regards to average Australian software engineer pay. The base salary is very competitive, the yearly bonus is usually pretty sizeable, and the equity/shares bonuses are really nice too, as the company is doing pretty well right now.

Allowing us to expense get-togethers with each other outside of work hours. It is the best policy I've ever heard of. We can go to movies, get dinner, go on a road-trip, go to an arcade. Do almost anything, and Atlassian generously encourages this as long as it's with other employees. It's to encourage a close-knit community at Atlassian and personally I think it works wonders.

The company offers a $60 per person budget for any activities or events you hold to increase team connection. This can be used for anything from drinks and karaoke to free meals. TEAM anywhere is a policy that allows you to work outside of your work location for 90 days, meaning I can travel while working. Everyday the company offers free lunch, snacks, and drinks at the office. We get a generous working from home budget when we join to purchase whatever we need to improve our WFH set up. Every year we get a $250 wellness budget that we can spend on things that will improve our wellbeing such as gym memberships, fitness classes, financial advice, exercise equipment, nutritionists, etc. We also get access to 10 free career coaching sessions and 10 free therapy sessions each year.

The best perk is that we can plan events for our team or graduates and the company will pay for the event (up to a certain amount) so that you can have social activities outside of work.
