Anthony Harper is one of New Zealand's longest established and most respected national law firms with offices in Tāmaki Makaurau and Ōtautahi.

Our lawyers are true specialists, bringing years of experience and deep expertise to everything they touch. You’ll find us highly ranked in respected international law directories, and our name behind some of the most complex corporate and commercial cases and transactions of the day.

About our summer law programme

Our summer law programme runs from November to February offering you an insight into a large and progressive law firm. You will work with experienced partners and build both your professional and personal skills in a fun and forward thinking environment.
Our Summer Clerkship will provide you with an unrivalled opportunity to rotate through and fully immerse yourself in our internationally recognised practice areas, offering you the chance to do real work with real clients from the get go. On top of this you will have a buddy and ongoing support from a diverse team of junior and senior lawyers as well as training sessions from some of New Zealand's top legal experts.

We understand the importance of your Clerkship and are committed to providing you with a unique developmental experience, arming you with all of the tools you need to build a solid foundation for your legal career.

About you

You will most likely be in your final or penultimate year of law school and will have a lively and engaging mind. Whilst academic excellence is appreciated, we also value life experience and a thirst for continual learning and growth.

If you like to dig in and get the most out of every opportunity, you will enjoy working with us. Our hands-on, collaborative approach means you will quickly find yourself an invaluable part of the team you work with.

The recruitment process

The application process starts with you submitting your CV, academic transcript, and answering some written questions.  You will then be invited to complete a video interview so that we can get a fuller picture of your personality.

The final stage of the recruitment process is an hour long interview with a partner, a senior associate and a member of our People and Culture team. This is a fantastic opportunity to ask as many questions as you'd like about the firm, the work involved and what's in it for you.
