What are your thoughts on pay and bonuses at your company?
Pay is good.
Graduate, Wellington
Pay could be slightly better, but the bonuses and benefits are very good
Graduate, Hamilton
Pay is industry standard. Plenty of bonuses including well-being and active transport bonus.
Graduate, Christchurch
I feel like my starting salary as a graduate was similar to other friends starting as graduates at similar companies. I have been very happy with my pay increases as a graduate. Pay reviews for graduates occur twice a year, while the rest of the employees get a pay review once a year. WSP pays a "Public and Active Commute Contribution" bonus to employees that commute to work via active/public transport modes three or more days a week. This is to encourage employees to reduce their carbon footprint and protect the environment by making carbon friendly transport choices. A "Personal and Wellness Grant" monetary bonus was also introduced in October 2023 as an initiative to support the personal development and well-being of employees. Another really awesome bonus/reward opportunity at WSP is the Matariki Award recognition program. Employees are nominated by their peers for their performance and every month, winners are awarded a micro-bonus. At the Annual Matariki Awards, winners of each category receive a monetary prize bonus.

Pay is great that it is every 6 months, however di?cult as all graduates in all companies will ?nd being on this in a cost of living crisis.
Graduate, Christchurch
Bonuses/benefits at WSP are great. For a graduate role the pay is also good.
Graduate, Hamilton
The inflation has severe impact on my satisfaction with my salary.
Graduate, Wellington
I am not sure how pay and bonuses work at WSP yet but I am glad that they offer two salary reviews per year for grads as this is great for young people starting their career.
Graduate, Auckland
taxes shouldn't be deducted from bonuses and subsidies.
Graduate, Wellington
Could always be better, especially seeing charge out rates for higher levels
Graduate, Auckland
No bonuses by the sounds of it. I don't really know if I can comment on pay as a grad. Grad pay is obviously pretty low, but you get that everywhere.
Graduate, Christchurch
Being a mature employee with previous employment, a Bachelors and Sales awards who retrained with a Diploma in Engineering and then given L1 & L2 projects at a graduate pay level is not very satisfactory.
Graduate, New Plymouth
My current salary is average for a graduate in my industry and is what I would expect as a graduate. WSP increases pay for graduates twice a year so I would expect another 3 pay increases during my time as a graduate. For graduates at WSP, the salary is nothing spectacular compared to other engineering ?rms and may lag behind some of them.
Graduate, Christchurch
My pay sits at the average pay for graduates. That's ok. Could be better/ worse. The PT bonuses from the company that pay for my train when commuting is good.
Graduate, Auckland
The company provides regular pay reviews and has some bonuses but the starting pay is lower than some competitors.
Graduate, Nelson
Pay rises don't seem to be keeping up with in?ation and the steep rise of the cost of living however they are given. I don't believe that we get any bonuses in our company but it would be nice to get them especially considering the growth of the company and the high performance of the company over the last year.
Graduate, Queenstown
Very average for the work I'm doing. Very good learning / development opportunity + exposure to complex work + experienced professionals.
Graduate, Auckland
What are your company's best or most unusual perks? For example: free tickets, free dinners, moving expenses, taxis, pension, etc.
If you walk or get public transport to work, you will receive a subsidy to cover your travel costs. Graduates are also entitled to an allowance every few months to go towards social events or lunches etc. with other graduates.
Graduate, Wellington
private health insurance, public and active commute contribution, health and wellbeing fund
Graduate, Christchurch
Nothing. We do have health insurance, but I dont think it has much merit.
Graduate, Christchurch
Sick leave is very generous. Grad programme is very supportive and fun, with subsidised trips/activities/meals offered to encourage networking with the other grads. We also get many discounts, bonuses, and private health insurance
Graduate, Hamilton
Unspecified sick leave policy, we also have subsidised health insurance and offers from car servicing places
Graduate, Christchurch
WSP's best perk is Southern Cross Health Insurance! Other great perks are subsidised events like Round the Bays and the Auckland Marathon. There are also miscellaneous employee discounts available, such as for technology, food, car rental and accommodation.
Graduate, Auckland
