8.7 rating for Culture, based on 27 reviews
Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
The people are really nice. The events are very varied and not very often. There's not much going on outside of work or at lunch times in terms of people hanging out together or having events. There is no bullying and the company has a great reputation for having really nice people

Plenty of social activities with social club as well as the grad program and DPG (developing professional). These something on every week in work hours and out side work hours. Stantec has a great work culture, not only do you get to know the people in your office but also get to know those across New Zealand and even Asia-Pacific.

Office culture is quite welcoming and inclusive, everyone is more than happy to help you/give advice. Opportunities to network internally with the junior and senior members of the office. After hours is very social, lots of opportunities to socialise with the wider office. Many employee resource groups and inter-team groups that plan events for after work.

There is no apparent hierarchy in the office as the desks are in an open plan layout so you could sit next to your team manager. There is no one who uses their position in work to abuse their power on others. We have occasional Friday drinks sessions and its nice to wind down after a long week.

Very social, everyone is friendly and easy to get on with. People are always happy to answer questions and help me if needed.

The company is very hierarchical. Socialising is positive. Graduate culture is strong in some company teams but not all.

Pretty good culture, everyone seems to get along that I'm aware of. only been here a few months so haven't sussed everyone out yet. there are after work drinks in town maybe every second week so social aspect is very good.

There is a social club that you can join which plans after work drinks and mini events for group events. There is also a developing professional group that also does social events and learning events for those early in their careers. Overall, there is alot of collaboration between different people at different stages in their careers. The company has a reputation for having a good company culture and having really nice and friendly people. There isn't any bullying or bad managers for in industry the company has built a good name.

It is very social, there's always things to get involved in. Plenty of social events hosted by Stantec, plenty that we attend externally also. The hierarchy is clear, but not in a negative way. I know who the senior leaders are but don't necesarily feel inferrior to them

As i've mentioned before, the culture is very nice. Everyone is friendly during and after hours. Have been participating in most curricular activities and loving it so far.

The culture is really positive, very welcoming and inclusive. There is a lot of work that is completed, but also, a lot of effort into making your time spent at work enjoyable and fun
Graduate, Wellington
Strongly hierarchical, but some willingness to work as a team. Strong social culture. Lacking graduate bonding.
Graduate, Auckland
The culture is great, everyone is really considerate and friendly. You can ask anyone for help and they'll do whatever they can. There is a great social aspect with regular morning teas and after work drinks
Graduate, Christchurch
Great culture, very friendly, great diversity. Impressed. Social activities frequent, general good 'vibe'. Of course there is a ladder but the majority of the office is flat. Good teamwork
Graduate, Auckland
Great culture - there's always social events happening both during office hours and outside. Lots of team building exercises and a clear company goal of ensuring employee wellbeing.

Strong teamwork

The in office culture is extremely friendly and connected. You will never struggle to talk to upper management in a natural conversational way. Outside of the office there are plenty of opportunities for socialising in the company's social club and developing professionals group.
