Your role

About the Internship opportunity:

  • Jacobs Ports and Maritime Group (PMG) provides specialist technical services in coastal zone infrastructure development.   
  • Jacobs team specializes in commercial ports, bulk terminals, naval bases, breakwaters and coastal defenses, dredging and reclamation, marine off-loading facilities, and sea water intakes and outfalls.   
  • Jacobs will support a wide range of major UK and international clients across the maritime, defense, energy, and transport sectors. 

Training & development

During the 8-week summer internship program, as a member of the Jacobs intern community, weekly presentations on key learning topics will be offered, and you’ll be invited to attend regular office events and competitions. A mentor will support your learning and facilitate opportunities to network across Jacobs, allowing you to gain as much out of the experience as possible.

About you

What you'll need

  • On track to complete a degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering 
  • A flexible and innovative self-starter who’s passionate about developing new skills 
  • Enthusiasm and curiosity to apply your skills to solve real-world problems 
  • Empathy and listening skills to help you truly understand their clients’ requirements 
  • A well-rounded individual – have you worked in a bar? Been captain of a sports team or volunteered for a charity? Tell them– they’re looking for people with interesting stories and experiences! 
  • You must be available to join the 8-week program starting 1st July 2024 – 22nd August 2024. 
  • You must have the permanent right to work in the UK.
