A unique opportunity to kickstart your career with an organisation that wants to help make your world safer, bigger, and bolder!

We have a range of Risk teams for you to be exposed to including:

  • Cyber & Protective Services (CPS)
  • Compliance & Regulatory Engagement (CARE)
  • Enterprise Risk & Operations (ER&O)
  • Operational Risk & Assurance (OR&A)
  • Direct Insurance Australia (DIA) Risk, Intermediated Insurance Australia (IIA) Risk and New Zealand (NZ) Risk

We are seeking attentive, collaborative, people-focused graduates to complement our risk teams. The graduate we’re looking for has an interest in data analytics, loves problem-solving and can design and execute creative solutions.

Group Risk is on an exciting journey following a multi-million dollar risk transformation program.  As we embed industry-leading risk management practices, you will have the opportunity to contribute towards our vision where:

  • We aim to be a trusted business partner and advisor supporting IAG to navigate uncertainty, deliver strategic outcomes and play to win with confidence.
  • We will help IAG to actively manage risk with a positive risk culture and a contemporary risk management model that balances risks and opportunities and gives the business confidence to pursue its goals reliably and within risk appetite.
  • We will do this as “One IAG Group Risk team” delivering expert capability through an engagement model orientated around the business.

As a Risk Grad you could have exposure to:

  • Ensuring IAG has appropriate frameworks, governance, policies and tools to achieve its strategic objectives within the Board approved risk appetite.
  • Protecting IAG people, places and systems against cyber, physical and internal fraud threats and ensuring IAG has the right level of operational resilience to respond to any crisis situation.
  • IAG’s compliance strategy and our regulators to ensure that IAG has clear and cogent compliance frameworks in place.
  • Financial Risk, Insurance & Reinsurance Risk, Strategic Risk and Organisational Conduct & Customer Risk.

About you:

  • You’ll present with a professional demeanour
  • You’ll have an interest or background in data analytics
  • You’ll be able to showcase your problem-solving ability
  • You’ll bring your sharp critical thinking skills
  • You model a ‘ready for anything’ mindset
  • You’re a driven, enthusiastic team player
  • Your natural friendliness is just one of your talents
  • You’ll actively participate and contribute to the IAG graduate program and graduate community
  • You’re passionate about making the world a safer place

Requirements:

  • A university degree or higher within past 3 years (2021, 2022, 2023) in any discipline alongside an interest in risk management and data analytics, with the most relevant degrees likely to involve risk, commerce, economics, business, finance, law or engineering.
  • An average credit achievement (65%+), and
  • Are an Australian and/or New Zealand citizen or Australian and/or New Zealand permanent resident

Benefits

  • up to 50% insurance discounts
  • flexible work and leave options
  • various corporate partner discounts, and
  • a people-focused culture that celebrates achievements big and small

Don’t tick all the boxes but you’re still excited about this opportunity?  If that's you, we encourage you to still apply as you may just be the right candidate for this role or one of our other opportunities.

About Us

IAG might be the largest general insurance group in Australia and New Zealand, underwriting over $13 billion of premium per annum, but we’re so much more than that.

We’re a tech and research facility, a hub for climate change experts and a centre of resilience design. We chat over coffee with customers, advocate for them in the corridors of Parliament and back them up in the community when life’s moments hit hardest.

You’ll know our brands - NRMA Insurance, CGU, WFI, ROLLiN', NZI, State and AMI to name a few. Together they turn our IAG purpose of making your world a safer place into action by helping, supporting ambitions and making insurance accessible.

When you join IAG, you’re not joining one brand. You’re joining a large purpose-led, Trans-Tasman group dedicated to making your world a safer place.

We’re ready to grow your career, acknowledge every part of you, recognise your brilliance, lead you with purpose and help you live your own purpose through us.

We’re ready for you. Apply today.
