About Counties Manukau Health

Counties Manukau Health is the overarching organization responsible for New Zealand's national health service and will work closely with its partners at Te Aka Whai Ora – Māori Health Authority. July 1st was the beginning of something special as they started working together to create a simpler, more equitable, and accessible health service.

Your role

You will develop and implementing HNZ Northern Region’s Health’s energy and carbon reduction plan, with a view to save 2.5GWh of energy (Electricity and Natural gas), and associated cost savings over two years.

You will be focussing on energy-related initiatives that will demonstrate cost savings and drive improvements in the areas of:

  • Stationary Energy Assessment
  • Energy management and utility usage across sites
  • Process and systems improvement
  • Utility cost saving initiatives and benefits tracking
  • EV infrastructure
  • Computer based energy modelling

Training, development & rotations

This is a full time Monday to Friday, 24 months fixed term role that is based either in in Auckland region (Middlemroe Hospital, North Shore Hospital or Auckland city Hospital) or Northlands (Whangarei Hospital). They offer abundant opportunities for personal and professional development within a supportive and fulfilling environment. About you

Qualifications:

  • Graduate in Energy Management, Mechanical Engineering, Building Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related degree.
  • Current full drivers license
  • Hard-working, innovative and takes pride in their work and enjoy working as part of a high-performance team
  • Self-starter with strong communication skills, able to work and communicate with a wide range of personnel
  • Ability to prioritise work and work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Passion for sustainability work with a specialist knowledge base in energy or some aspect
  • Familiarity with proprietary energy management software
