Please describe the interview process and assessments.
Two interviews were carried out. One with the HR of the company, and the second interview with the head of the department and one of the other heads of the company

This was a really good experience in which both interviews were very personable and made me feel relaxed and excited about the prospect of working at BCD.

I applied to BCD Group while i was still studying finishing my second year so i could get some on the job experience at a firm as an intern. I had one interview with the drafting managers and then i sent them through my portfolio so they could see the work i had done in Revit while studying.
Graduate, Hamilton
Easy, comfortable and quick. It is good chance to know the leaders of the company. Not like other companies, waste so much time to finish each single step.
Graduate, Hamilton
Got asked questions and I answered them and then they offered me the job 20 mins later
Graduate, Hamilton
The interview process was good to get a feel for the company and then a feel for the team

Graduate, Tauranga
I was asked a variety of questions with the first interview consisting of questions predominately about myself, my studies and personal life and the second interview delved in to more technical questions and how I would be as an employee.

Do you have any specific tips and advice for candidates applying to your company? How would you recommend they best prepare?
They would best prepare by brining their true self. Better to be honest and explain to the best of your abilities what you can bring to the company. What you expect from them. Ask lots of questions.
Graduate, Tauranga
The thing I really liked about BCD was that they had a real focus on personality and that they could train you up knowledge wise but the most important thing was having a personality that would fit with the company. To best prepare I would recommend coming in as yourself and not trying to be who you think they want you to be. Do your research on BCD and find passion in the projects they are involved with and make sure you know its a place you want to work.
Graduate, Hamilton
don't be scared the people interviewing you are not as scary as they seem, if you could have samples of work you have done is always good for them to be able to see what your doing and talking about, and have a question for the company at the end no matte how small of a question
Graduate, Hamilton
Just be honest and yourself, companies arent looking for robots, they want people
Graduate, Tauranga
Do your research and get familiar with BCD. Read the company values. This is a great company that is very invovled in the community and in sports. Get to know who the leadership team is and reach out to employees.

I highly recommend jumping at the opportunity to do an internship, it is paid and it gives you real world experience in the field, an idea of what the company is like to work for as well as getting your foot in the door to secure a full time job after study. It really fast tracked my career here and i feel like i have a much better understanding of how to do the job and use Revit better. My advice would be to reach out to the company asap even towards the end of your first year of study to show you are interested, be yourself and take a lot of pride in the work you do at University/Tech as this becomes your portfolio an can secure you a job.
