Your role

The Histology department is currently on the hunt for a dedicated, enthusiastic and competent Medical Laboratory Scientist Intern. This is a full-time permanent position of 80 hours per fortnight based at Wellington Hospital. You will be willing to learn new skills, work well alone and as part of a team. Extremely well-organised, detail-oriented and friendly with a strong focus on quality and customer service. The successful applicant must have a high degree of accuracy and be self-sufficient in order to excel in this role.

About you

To succeed in this role you will need:

  • The ability to work in a methodical manner adhering to strict quality procedure guidelines
  • A team focus with initiative, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and possess the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Excellent attention to detail, with good record-keeping skills
  • The ability to work independently, while in a supported role
  • Registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Eligibility to work in NZ
  • You will be required to participate in our evening and weekend rosters.
