The PGCertClinEd aims to develop the skills necessary to become an excellent educator within a wide range of healthcare settings. It has a flexible format and provides opportunities for students to undertake research projects in their area of interest.

Course structure

  • 60-point programme
  • Entirely assessed by coursework
  • 30 points from an advanced taught course covering topics in clinical teaching and practice (either CLINED 715 Theory and Practice of Clinical Education or NURSING 741 Education for Clinical Practice).
  • At least 15 points (one course) from a range of 700 level courses in Clinical Education (from the Clinical Education Schedule).
  • Up to 15 points (one course) from other approved relevant postgraduate courses.
  • The programme must be completed in one semester if enrolled full-time or within two years if enrolled part-time.
