Entry requirements

Minimum entry requirements

Must have completed one of:

  • A bachelor's degree OR
  • Graduate diploma OR
  • Relevant professional qualification or professional experience approved to be equivalent to a bachelor's degree

AND

  • Have a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience since gaining the degree or other qualification

Evidence of working experience will need to be submitted in the form of a CV, which can be attached to your online application.

Admission is subject to the approval of the MBA Director.

Career pathways

To graduate with an MBA you must successfully complete 180 points, made up of core courses (120 points) and elective courses (60 points).

You can choose how many courses you take per term to fit around work demands and personal commitments, provided you complete the qualification within four years. You can continue working full-time while completing your MBA part-time.

All courses are 10 points unless stated otherwise. Each course involves eight weeks of class learning; one three-hour class per week. This is followed by an examination week then a one-week preparation period for the following term. You can start the MBA at any one of the four terms.

Core courses (120 points) - complete the following courses:Elective courses (60 points) - choose six from: You can also take courses from other areas in AUT and credit up to 60 points to the MBA.

You can also complete elective courses at one of AUT's international business school partners or complete a special topic course in a relevant area, subject to the approval of the MBA Director. There are opportunities to work with start-up companies or for you to develop your own business idea or project.
