The role

Salesforce developers build and maintain Xero's Salesforce products and services. This includes one of New Zealand's most complex Salesforce environments.

You'll have the opportunity to work across Xero's Salesforce teams, innovating new features, fixing bugs and enhancing functionality. If you enjoy learning and want to write code that makes our customers and stakeholders happy, we want to hear from you.

As a grad, you'll get to rotate through different Salesforce teams made up of Salesforce developers, technical leads, functional consultants, functional leads, team leads and administrators. You'll work with technologies like APEX, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, SOQL, Flows, Process Builder and more. We'll help you on your way to becoming a Salesforce developer in your first year.

What we need from you

You'll have a passion for writing code, learning, sharing ideas and be keen to work in an agile environment. We welcome grads with any qualification, not necessarily a university degree.

Ideally, you'll:

  • have technical examples of work outside your course, such as developing a new framework, learning a new language, being active on Stack Overflow, or have a great GitHub profile
  • be able to take a logical approach to work and cope well with change
  •  be a great communicator who likes working in agile teams
  • have an active Salesforce Trailhead account with lots of badges

If this sounds like you, get in touch! We'd love to hear from you.

How to apply

  • We'll need a copy of your CV, as well as links to any online projects, your website, GitHub/Stack Overflow and anything else you want to show us.
  • We'll also need a copy of your academic transcript – we know it won't be complete until the end of the year, so just send us everything so far.
  • Instead of a cover letter, in your online application, we'll ask you to tell us a bit about yourself and your thoughts on technology.
  • You need to be a citizen or permanent resident to apply. We'll need a copy of your passport and/or visa for a start date in Feb 2022.
  • Due to the number of applications we receive, we ask that you only apply for one role in one location. Please take some time to research each opportunity available before submitting your application.

The recruitment process

Applications open on 1 March 2021 and close 14 May 2021.

Once you've submitted your application, we'll review all entries and invite candidates to interview before making a decision.

It might feel like a long time when you're waiting to hear back, but we will get back to you. We have a lot of applications to work through and want to spend time looking at every single one.

Xero is an NZ Immigration Accredited Employer and Rainbow Tick certified too.

What I love about my job is to be a bridge to communicate technical to non-technical. Translating and educating is the key and that is what I love to do.
