8.9
8.9 rating for Culture, based on 12 reviews
Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
I work very closely with a couple other junior/graduates and seniors in a small team. We work together and have many discussions to solve problems. We have lunch together every day and organise small events each month outside of work hours to socialise.

In office culture is good but a lot of people work from home a lot, would be nicer if more people came in. Not a huge outside of office culture, but we do have good Social Club events which get good turnouts. Good culture across the hierarchy, senior staff are approachable.

T+T has a very flat hierarchy where everyone is approachable. The culture in the office is excellent, and the work life balance is great. The free food is also great, but I wish there was more of it.

Everyone is very kind and sociable. If I need help, they would set some time out to teach and develop me in my work. We have a structure of graduates, which is me as a new entry, then the intermediates, which have been here 3 years or more. Longer than that, you get project managers, usually 5 years and up and then project directors, technical directors, discipline managers, discipline directors, etc., I usually work with a few people from the office, usually the project managers for the projects that I am involved in and other colleagues. The project manager gives the work brief and make sure all the logistic side of things are sorted i.e, proposals, contracts etc., My team leader, keeps track of my development and have development chat sessions with me throughout the year to coach me on my development goals in my career. I usually socialise with my colleagues during lunch time. The graduates tries to arrange a social thing once a month. There are friday staff drinks once a month. Social club have lots of fun activities planned throughout the year.

A big reason I love working at Tonkin + Taylor is the culture and my colleagues. Many different events that help connect different people and everyone is kind. I would love to see more Pacific and Maori people in the office.
