Communities are fundamental. Whether around the corner or across the globe, they provide a foundation, a sense of place and of belonging. That's why at Stantec, we always design with community in mind.

We care about the communities we serve—because they're our communities too. We're designers, engineers, scientists, and project managers, innovating together at the intersection of community, creativity, and client relationships. Balancing these priorities results in projects that advance the quality of life in communities across the globe.

The opportunity | Ko te āheinga

Gain experience as a Summer Intern with Stantec and you lay the way open for a rewarding career in engineering with Stantec. As an Engineering NZ Professional Development Partner, we'll pay your membership fees and assist you to select the right mentor to fast track your path to registration. You'll have the chance to work on leading-edge projects, fully supported by our comprehensive Graduate Development Programme.

About you | E pā ana ki a koe

Of course, you'll need to be studying a relevant degree or diploma but just as important are your personal attributes. You'll be as committed as we are to improving the world we live in, seizing the environmental challenges that we all face and coming up with solutions that will benefit generations to come. Our interns demonstrate personal leadership qualities and thrive in an environment in which they are challenged.

To be eligible to apply you must:

  • Be in your second or third year of study
  • Preferably have a full clean current driving licence
  • Able to commence work from mid-November 2020 to mid-February 2021

About us | E pā ana ki a mātou

The Stantec community unites approximately 22,000 employees working in over 350 locations across seven continents. We collaborate across disciplines and industries to bring water, transport and infrastructure projects to life. Our work from initial project concept and planning through design, construction and commissioning is built on a nearly 200-year history. So, when we take on a project, we see the opportunity to make a lasting connection with the people and places where we live and work.

How to apply | I pēhea ki te whakauru

We will be hiring interns in many locations across the country, across the range of civil disciplines, and potentially electrical/mechanical.

Apply directly online. We require you to:

  • Supply your transcript to date
  • Include a cover letter outlining why you are applying, what is your preference for location and discipline and why we should shortlist you for interview.
