The onboarding admin training was efficient and there was enough work to keep me occupied for the first week. I also got involved in Civil 3D training quite early which would prepare me for future works using Civil 3D.

New starters have to do a whole bunch of online training to get familiar with the company values and policies. There is lots of formal training options avaliable to you but you need to initiate it yourself because it is tailored to you and your needs/skills.

I've picked up quite a few skills related to graduate competencies, alongside some training on field work. I'd like to get some additional fieldwork training in though, and some more opportunities to practice skills I've learned so far (so that I don't forget them).

Through the training and development programmes at Stantec, many useful skills are taught and can be picked up. Additionally, lots of skills and experiences are gained by just being put in the deep end and learning through doing it for the first time.

The opportunity to learn here is fantastic, lots of programs and courses you can take. I've done several linkdin learning courses and talenthub courses, from professional practice, to more in depth courses for my role.

Initial formal training encompasses quite a bit of health and safety, and workplace procedures. Specialization specific training is great for me as teams from other locations overseas have bi-weekly discussions about lessons learnt.

I think a better system specific to the role could be set up. I did end up doing a lot of informal training to teach myself.
