The Future Makers Academy is our 'graduate' program. It's all about bringing people from diverse backgrounds together to create great software. It provides a solid foundation to those taking the first steps in their software development career.
Proteges (our Grads) learn at their own pace, working collaboratively with their cohort and other proteges while also being guided by a mentor throughout their journey to becoming an Associate Developer.
The academy is not just about writing code, it's about having a growth mindset, it's about teamwork, it's about learning our culture and having a blast while you learn at your own pace!
Our recruitment process is simple and is an opportunity for us to get to know you while you can get to know us! It's all about bringing your whole self to the process.
Our application process involves:
Orientation Week “O-Week!” is when you start as a permanent employee in (either in August or February). From there, you'll be paired with a mentor who will support you throughout your journey.
The first stage of your journey is Acceleration where you will be provided with a high level of learning and support that helps you explore your strengths and build on identified focus areas. You'll build on both soft and technical skills which helps to ‘accelerate’ your personal and professional development.
After acceleration, you'll enter into rotations. Proteges move through the program at a pace which works for them, so there isn't a ‘set time. As you implement your learnings in rotations, you’ll be exposed to different areas of the business, projects and people. Once you have completed your rotations, you'll be ready to graduate as an Associate Developer in an area that suits your interests and capabilities.
On top of the above, you'll be working on a Cohort Project - making an impact from day one. Then there are a number of other opportunities to get involved in the wider business from communities, teams, and other initiatives that resonate with you - allowing your whole self to contribute to MYOB.
