I work on a lot of varied matters in the employment space: advising clients on employment matters, compiling documents for hearings, client meetings, review employer's documentation for labour inspections.
I do a variety of tasks, from meeting clients to drafting deeds and Wills. There is a real range in this area of law.
Can be varied depending on the type of job I am working on. It may include research, drafting advice for clients, reviewing files and documents, discovery and assisting seniors with running a file.
A lot of reviewing documentation and legal research - mostly stimulating and challenging but can be repetitive and under-stimulating at times.
Day-to-day responsibilities include corresponding with clients, drafting submissions for the District Court, High Court and Court of Appeal, appearing in court, writing letters to other lawyers, writing letters of advice to clients, recording my time, attending networking events, reviewing files, commencing proceedings etc.
