Our Insight program is aimed at law students who are not yet able to apply for a seasonal clerkships. It will give you a high-level overview of how King & Wood Mallesons is structured, what areas of law we practice and the type of clients we work with.  

You will also get an in-depth look at particular matters in the firm and a chance to listen to some of our staff talk about their experiences as legal professionals, including; undertaking further study, working in one of our offshore offices and going on a client secondment.  

What sessions can I expect to attend in the Insight Program?

The Insight Program offers students a unique insight into our day-to-day operations and an opportunity to network with lawyers and partners.

  1. September 2020 - The Global Legal Market - this session will provide an introduction to the ever-changing global legal market
  2. October 2020 - Networking at King & Wood Mallesons - Ever been speed dating? Meet our lawyers from each of our practice groups. This is a networking session in the format of a "group speed dating"!
  3. November 2020 - Skills Based Session - This session will provide you with practical skills to assist you now and in your legal career
  4. March/April 2021 - Shadow a Lawyer - What is it really like to work in commercial law? Gain some real insight into the type of work we do by spending time with one of our lawyers!

Are you eligible to apply?

The Insight Program is aimed at law students who are not yet able to apply for a clerkship (i.e. pre-penultimate). If you are eligible to apply for a clerkship but are unable to participate (e.g. overseas exchange) and would like to participate, please contact us.

Further Information

Similar to the eligibility requirements for our seasonal clerkships and graduate programs, please note that if you are not an Australian citizen or permanent resident, you must hold all visas and other approvals necessary to work unrestricted in Australia.
