Any candidate with a proactive attitude willing to get the best out of others will go a long way to achieving success in my role.

As someone whose greatly passionate about protecting our environment, it’s rewarding to see how heavily sustainability is integrated within all dimensions of the Level Crossing Removals Project, from design to construction.

The most interesting aspect has been the numerous sites I’ve had the opportunity to be involved in. It’s an eye opener to see the challenges that arise delivering a project on site compared to what’s been written on paper.

If you are passionate and have the drive to learn you will find invitations to other construction sites, and contractor facilities will readily flow your way.

Preparing for the Graduate Program for me started during my university time. I made sure that I had previous work experience in the engineering/construction industry while studying.

I prepared for the Graduate Program by keeping an open mind about my rotations and what I was going to learn on the job.

The rotation in projects allows you to meet new people all the time and being challenged to learn more every day.

The main limitation, however, is whatever you limit yourself to. If you are willing to learn and not take things personally, then you can learn more and thrive.

Every stage involves a completely different scope of work, which make things interesting. It makes you never feel bored. There are always new challenges waiting for you to work out.

Working on this project makes me understand more about the amount of work required to build a tunnel and appreciate more when I drive through one. 

Being ambitious, it is easy to put 100% focus into work and let things such as social life and exercise slip.

I was able to gain a deeper understanding of certain functions of a project, such as planning, and how it ties into the overall project.
