Office & Workplace at DXC Technology New Zealand

Please comment on your company's office space, location and facilities. And while we're at it, please tell us a little about the dress code.
The location could not be any more perfect. It is in the middle of the flat city, 10 steps away to all the food courts, grocery, pharmacy, and the pubs. It is on the level 8 of a building which has massive windows and gets perfect sunlight. The ventilation and temperature is incredible. The facilities could be better, some monitors aren't working so some desks are left empty because it's pretty ugly, only one monitor that sometimes doesn't work, and not a nice space to work in. Kitchen facilities could do better - we always run out of spoons, broken dishwashers, old coffee machine, 2 microwaves that people have to queue for every lunch time, not enough shared condiments. The dress code is very business casual, but it really depends on the day. Some people show up more formal than others as they are customer facing or because they have a meeting. Some people wear a hoodie and runners as they are very back-end but dress up in important meetings. Everyone usually dresses up if we are told that we have new customers on the floor. On Fridays, everyone is very laid back, usually in a casual outfit, but still appropriate for work.

The office is located very central in Wellington and it is a large space for the number of people who come in.

Office space is good enough, there are pre-booked seating. The office gets very full on busy days, therefore not many seats may be available. Dress code is smart casual, but may also depend on the team for example Sales/Consulting team will need to be dressed professionally for clients.

In terms of location. DXC wellington sits in the heart of the city and in the tallest building in Wellington. Location-wise it makes lunch time options are harder choice (which is good) and after work activities much easier to plan. Facilities however could be improved within the office space. The dress code varies depending on what your role is and if you are required to do customer facing, but usually the dress code can be quite chill.

Location down in wellington is extremely good, the office layout is nice and the facilities are always well kept. There is a small dress code in that you can wear basically anything aside from pajamas, and or really bad condition clothing. If you look nice in it, you can probably wear it.

Clean, open, well kept facilities, smart dress code, can also be very casual. don't wear dirty clothes or ripped clothes and you will be fine.

I like the DXC office. We tend to sit in teams; however, this is not mandated and all staff are able to sit where they wish. We are located right in the heart of the CBD with lots of shops/cafes around. Transport to the office is easy for everyone as buses stop almost right outside alongside the car parks we have available in the building itself. DXC has a very casual dress code. Although this somewhat differs to the role you have within the organisation and if you are customer facing or not, everyone is encouraged to wear what they see fit. I personally like to dress formally as I am customer facing and never know when I may need to see someone; however there are people who wear hoodies/shorts to the office. Alike a lot of other companies we do have casual Friday.
