Deloitte's Summer Intern program, running from November 2019 to February 2020, is a great way to experience what life is like in Private by giving you real world exposure to clients and projects. The program is designed to help you make the best career choice by showing you what it's like working for Deloitte.

What will you do in Private?

Working in Private you will provide a huge range of services to businesses that form the backbone of our economy, and some of New Zealand’s most progressive and interesting companies - small to medium sized enterprises. This includes preparing management accounts, year-end accounts, compliance tax returns, and providing strategic accounting and business planning advice.

We have a number of diverse teams within Deloitte Private including teams focused on Māori Business and China Services.

Your skills

We need to quickly gain the trust and respect of our clients – something that hinges as much on personality as it does on intellect. With that in mind, you must be/have:

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Interested in the details of your clients’ business
  • Excellent numerical ability
  • Driven and highly committed
  • Ability to manipulate data using Excel
  • Flexible and resilient

What Degree will you have?

  • Commerce (or commerce/law conjoint) degree with accounting/tax major
  • On the completion of your degree you must have met the CAANZ prerequisite requirements for provisional membership to be eligible for a position in Private
