Training & Personal Development at Commonwealth Bank

8.2
8.2 rating for Training, based on 19 reviews
Please describe the training programmes at your company and tell us what skills you've picked up.
A lot of my skills I have picked up are on-the-job training and that has been very good for my professional growth and wellbeing e.g. learning new Excel formulas, learning new portals and software and understanding some accounting concepts. In terms of formal training for grads, there are "grad talks" happening a couple of times throughout the year plus grad conferences.

On the job training has been done well. Formal training was very long and didn't feel too relevant.

Monthly grad talks on different topics such as imposter syndrome, sustainability, introduction to banking etc. Fortnightly catch-ups with MOR. Side by sides with different team members.

There has clearly been a lot of thought and effort put into the Graduate training as well as other onboarding.

The training I received was adequate to complete my role effectively. Shadowing other analysts was very beneficial. There was formal training as well and more optional trainings available.

Learnt so much from formal and on the job training. Desk sits and the opportunity to get involved is second to none.

Bank provides sufficient level of training.

We have 3 conferences for grads (beginning, mid and end year) and they help develop all the soft skills like teamwork, collaboration and influencing. On the job, there's a lot more technical work like data analysis, data management, risk management, project delivery and providing HR advice.

Access to great external development programs, as well as internal training, team dependent. Definitely don't expect you to know everything as soon as you join a team, and a key focus of your early time in the rotation is placed on trainings.
