Diversity at BP Australia

Overall, very strong. I think the company needs to be more accepting of people expressing themselves with their fashion though.

We have various business resource groups focussed on things like sustainability, women in business, LGBTI, and social events. We also have a diversity team that focus on improving KPIs with regard to hiring of certain demographics and also representation in leadership (e.g. percentage of senior leadership that are female). This commitment also comes through in things like mat and pat leave. However, pat leave I believe is still only 4 weeks, which is quite low compared to other, more progressive policies.

I'd say overall bp is very good in this space and they do what they say they'll do.

bp is an incredibly diverse workplace and champions diversity.

There is a strong focus on DE&I and lots of training and events to help people learn about other cultures or the LGBTQI+ community.

Lots of training provided to staff around social issues and how to be an upstander. Good office culture of celebrating other cultures and allowing people to bring their full selves to work.

I believe we have scholarships for First Nations applicants. I'm not sure what else we do with regard to other demographics (e.g. rural, low-income).

Social mobility business group champions equity in hiring process.

Actively participates in job fairs for people from less privileged backgrounds to provide opportunities to speak to recruiters.
