GBS are offering one (1) fantastic opportunity for a Logistics student to join the team as part of our 12-month Co-operative (Co-op) program. Commencing in January 2020, the Co-op program provides penultimate year students with the chance to gain experience in a real job where you can apply the knowledge you have gained at university while continuing to develop your technical and business skills.

As a BP GBS Co-op student in the Logistics team, you will be part of a national, large-scale operation with the opportunity to work across our fuels and lubricants supply chain including logistics, warehousing and stock control. You will rotate across a team of over 100 people, performing responsibilities such as:

  • product order taking and scheduling
  • assisting the Performance and wider Logistics team to monitor and audit the performance of the logistics department to recommend upgrades or improvements
  • analysing processes and reporting on the capability to use systems correctly
  • assisting in the development of technology opportunities to support the Logistics business, including contributing to the implementation as required
  • building management reports and meeting materials and attending monthly meetings to discuss results
  • supporting the Operations Excellence Manager with ad hoc reporting requirements
  • leading a continuous improvement project

To be successful in our Logistics team you will also have the following attributes:

  • strong analytical skills and proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, Access and Business Objects
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to establish relationships, influence and negotiate outcomes
  • a commercial mindset, ensuring that we make the best use of time and resources
  • strong initiative and the ability to find opportunities to do things better, faster and more effectively
  • a logical approach to problem-solving and a hunger to find creative solutions
  • leadership qualities including collaboration and teamwork

About you
To be eligible for our Co-op program you are:

  • ideally in your penultimate year of a Supply Chain, Logistics or Project Management degree/post graduate or similar. We would consider recent graduates as well.
  • achieving a minimum 65% GPA average
  • available to start in mid-January 2020
  • an Australian citizen or permanent resident
