Recruitment Process

How the grad application process work?

Applications open. Applications for our 2024/25 Graduate Programme are open until 1 April 2024.

Apply online. You’ll need to upload your cover letter, CV and academic transcript (we know this won't be your official one, so just send us where you are at so far). You can also complete optional video submissions to help support your application.

Applications close. If you have missed the deadline or your application isn't successful, we encourage you to keep in touch – there are other grad opportunities open throughout the year.

Applicant screening begins. Once applications have closed, all applications will be reviewed and then shortlisted by our team. If we’re progressing with your application, we’ll invite you to our kick-off session. If your application isn’t successful, we will be sure to let you know via email.

Kick-off sessions. Before all interviews begin shortlisted candidates will have the opportunity to come to a one-hour virtual session we have before interviews where you can learn more about Beca, the graduate program, and get to ask our current grads and the recruitment team questions.

Interviews. This is where it gets exciting! We want to know more about you, what you like to do outside of university and why you want to join Beca. We’ll also ask you to talk us through a case study exercise, along with standard behavioural-based interview questions. To help you prepare, you’ll be emailed given the case studies a few days before the interview.

Employment offers. We'll contact you as soon as a decision has been made. If you're offered a job, we will complete a reference check and then send your formal offer online through your candidate profile. A background check will be completed, prior to you starting with us and an education check will be completed at the beginning of 2025 to confirm your qualification/s.

Onboarding. We're looking forward to welcoming you to Beca! Most of our graduates commence in early March where you will be welcomed into our Graduate Development Programme. A support person (buddy) will be there to support you to ensure you’ll feel part of the team from day one.

Remuneration & Career Growth

What Graduates Say About Them
  • Diverse projects that make an impact on my community and the Graduate Development Programme learning sessions and connecting events.
  • The safety to learn and to learn through failing. My supportive team and their investment in my growth
  • There is quite a wide range of cultures in the team. There are lots of social club activities. Friendly environment. Encourage a healthy work-life balance. There are quite a lot of resources available to learn from if underresourced. In close proximity to upper management and leadership. A range of career pathways.
  • The people and culture it's a very friendly workplace not matter who you work with, I've only heard good things. Heaps of people that have celebrated 20, 30+ years at Beca, I think that is a really good sign that its a positive and supportive workplace.
  • The standout feature of working at Beca is the diverse range of projects and tasks that keep the job engaging and continually expand our skills. Beca encourages employees to explore different aspects of their roles, promoting personal growth. The company culture is exceptional, built on collaboration, inclusivity, and a strong sense of community. Beca offered flexible working, providing work-life balance and support for ongoing learning and development.
  • Because it is such a big company, it takes a long time to get the chance to get broad coverage of the activities that your discipline involves. This varies from team to team and from business line to business line, but I have felt my learning and development have been slow.
  • It can be stressful at times when scoped hours are too low and/or when there is a short timeframe.
  • One potential drawback of working at our company, particularly for roles outside of our graduate programmer or rotational programs, could be a comparatively less competitive salary when compared to other consulting firms.
  • The location is somewhat difficult to commute to, and as with all big companies, I would say there can be a lot more downtime for smaller companies.
  • Beca offers a strong work environment, growth opportunities, and a supportive culture, which many employees find equally rewarding.
