Choosing a career path as an undergraduate can be challenging. While you may have an interest in a particular area, you sometimes don’t know which path to follow until you’ve had some practical work experience. In our internship programme, you will be placed in a technical field of your choice (where possible) for approximately three months to gain experience in that field and help you decide if it is right for you.
Aurecon’s internship programme coincides with university summer break, so students typically start after their exam period in November/December and work through until university resumes in February/March. At the end of the experience, we give our internship students structured feedback on their performance to assist in their professional development.
While open to all students, the programme has been designed for undergraduates ideally in their penultimate year of study.
Aurecon is an engineering, design and advisory company, but not as you know it. We’ve re-imagined engineering.
Our clients’ ideas and aspirations drive all that we do. We work alongside them like no other firm to co-create clever, innovative solutions to some of the world’s most complex challenges.
In 2019, we were the first New Zealand engineering company to achieve The Rainbow Tick certification for diversity and inclusion. In 2018, the Aurecon-led North Canterbury Transport Infrastructure Recovery (NCTIR) Alliance project ‘Moving Mountains to Reconnect Communities’ was the winner of the 2018 Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) People’s Choice Award.
Hardwired in our DNA are engineering, design and the deep need to leave a legacy. We are as diverse as we are dynamic. As curious as we are clever.
A better future belongs to the bold who step forward.
The dreamers, the believers, the curious, the resourceful, the unconventional thinkers.
Join us, and we’ll give you flexibility, choice, and the freedom to be you to make an impact.
From using digital technology to plan and restore transport access to Kaikoura’s communities after major earthquakes. To designing the future of Auckland’s transport and reducing crippling congestion. To advising on the world's largest lithium-ion battery to store renewable energy.
