Diversity at AECOM New Zealand

7.2
7.2 rating for Diversity, based on 39 reviews
Please provide further information on diversity with respect to women, ethnic minorities and LGBT. Please comment on issues such as recruitment, retention, promotion, child care, maternity leave, etc.
They are definitely trying but I think the industry as a whole is lacking (i.e. prohibiting these minorities from pursuing a STEM career) so you don't see too many coming into the workforce. Maternity leave is great for both genders. The mother will have her salary topped up to 100% by AECOM. The dad can take up to 3 months leave fully paid.

We have an even mix of men to woman, embrace LGBTIQA+ community, and have people from all different backgrounds.

I have never really seen such a multi-cultural office before. It's very diverse and I am interacting w people from all over the world. I would love to see more women in the transport space.

It could be more diverse. Specficially there should be more women and people of colour within higher postions.

Their seems to be a real push to hire more women/minorities. People also don't seem to be discriminated on based on sexual identity (diversity is championed by the company). I think retention would be higher if the pay reviews weren't so rubbish. It must cost the money more to hire new people they have lost due to remuneration than it would to just pay more. It also feels disrespectful to not have experience recognised which tarnishes the other good aspects about working at AECOM

Have not seen any discriminatory behaviour towards anyone within the company. I like to think that if it ever did occur in the office, it would be called out immediately and treate4d very seriously. It is simply not condoned here.

We have a diverse office, with lots of Ex Pats from all around the world. We have a high proportion of women in the office, we additionally have in place systems to get women into management roles, and great parental leave. Our office has been really welcoming towards LGBTIQA+ communities and employees.

Yeah seems pretty good, lots of women in leadership roles which I love. still room for improvement.

We painted a wall with rainbow stripes but otherwise I'm not sensitive to these initiatives.

Diversity here is really good ! Just lacking in the management sector - barely any women

Lots of people are employed from outside of NZ and come to work for the company. Generally light in women, especially in the engineering field. The company has diversity courses that are mandatory for everyone to take each year.
